Description
So I put a lot of time into this and I realize a few more hours of work could make this piece even better... anyways here is a description of the piece.
This is a scene from a graphic novel that I am writing and illustrating. The Protagonist and her band of friends went through a major space battle over this planet. They were trying to escape this planetary system because of a infestation of nasty aliens had started started to take over. While the Natives to the system were trying to defend it the Protagonist and her ship got caught in the crossfire, and everything took a turn for the worse.
Painted in Adobe Photoshop and in Procreate for the iPad.
PLEASE...please, please critique this. Any feddback would be great for my artisitic development!

Vision Originality
Technique ImpactMaaan that planet in the background looks super awesome. Kinda Jupiter-like with all the swirlies.
I find this to be a really intruiguing painting. The city in the background looks like it's been kept up, and there are probably people living there. Yet just across the river is this wreckage, and it looks like it's been for at least a few days (no smoke coming from busted engines, no fresh footprints in the sand). ...OK I just read your description, so it's possible the fighting prevented anyone from the city from checking the aftermath of this crash. But I think there would be some footprints, either from the people inside fleeing, or from looters that scavenged the ship.
The lighting looks good except I think there should be a bit of the bright white highlights on the skyscrapers. The planet and the crashed ship has some white highlighting. I'm assuming this light is coming from the same source/the local sun, so there should be some of this white light on the left edges of the buildings.
